Fall 2017 Highlights

Fall Retreat 2017

ISF took about 40 UNL international students to our 2017 Fall Retreat at Covenant Cedars near Central City, NE. The students enjoyed the time away from school by taking on challenges, including:  trying the zip line and climbing wall, kayaking in the lake, engaging in outdoor team-building competitions, and even going to a church service.

We also invited the students to watch a movie called, The Case for Christ, which we followed up by discussing the evidence for the resurrection of Jesus.

ISF Square Dance 2017

International students briefly tried out life as American cowboys and cowgirls for a Friday evening this month! A local farmer graciously opened up his farm to us for dinner and country dancing on Oct 13th!  Instead of following the normal Friday ISF activities, students tried out their best square dance moves and even learned a few basics of the Virginia Reel dance!

Thanksgiving 2017

The biggest ISF event every year is the annual ISF Thanksgiving dinner. Over 200 students and nearly 50 American volunteers joined together for a holiday celebration! We shared a traditional Thanksgiving meal with the students, listened to musical performances, and watched a video on the origin of the Thanksgiving holiday.
